Do You Actually Need a Booster?

Not everyone needs race gas. Here is our simple guide to when additives make financial and mechanical sense.

Stock Engine (Daily) Usually No. Unless you have bad gas in your area, factory ECUs are fine on 91/93.
"Stage 1/2" Tune Recommended in Summer. Hot days cause heat soak, and a booster restores lost timing.
Big Turbo / Dyno Required. You need the safety margin to prevent catastrophic knock at high boost.

Our Testing Criteria

  • Knock Resistance: We look for products that actually reduce ignition corrections in datalogs.
  • Mixing Reality: Can you actually dose it accurately at the pump?
  • Cost Per Point: We calculate the real cost to hit 98 or 100 octane.
